A collection of four fairy tales,  The Princess and the Pea, Rumpelstiltskin, The Three Bears, and The Elves and the Shoemaker. This is an excellent introduction to fairy tales for young readers. With minimal illustrations, this book would be perfect to use with a flannel board, to enhance the story. For toddlers, this book may be a little bit lengthy and might need to be read one-two stories at a time because there are many words per page. For older children, they will find each story exciting from beginning to end. Being that it is a board book, it is ideal for smaller hands to hold and flip through the pages.

On the first endpage, we see a little red-haired girl who we later find out is named Mia, Mia is counting and jumping through puddles calling out to her sister. In typical little sister fashion, Mia follows her sister Lucy EVERYWHERE! Lucy feels as if her little sister is an annoying little monster and tells her to get lost. When her wish comes true, and real monsters want to keep Mia, Lucy gets monstrous too! With vivid colors spreading from each corner of the book, Fotheringham really showcases the love and nuisance of having a younger sibling. Through Rosenbaum's dialogue, the reader is shown how grateful they should be to having a younger sibling. Highly recommended for older siblings who need to be gently reminded that, it's not always so bad having a little sibling.
