Initially thinking that the book was called, I Heart N.Y.  I felt that the title made for a confusing misinterpreted introduction to the "story." the illustrations in this book are used creating lego pieces, but at times the parts do not work with the intended label. This board book is not a traditional story, and it is hard sometimes to understand the intended images, especially if the reader is not familiar with New York City. I Lego N.Y, would not be recommended for a children's book because it references a lot of an adult daily routine rather than anything about a child's routine.

On the first endpage, we see a little red-haired girl who we later find out is named Mia, Mia is counting and jumping through puddles calling out to her sister. In typical little sister fashion, Mia follows her sister Lucy EVERYWHERE! Lucy feels as if her little sister is an annoying little monster and tells her to get lost. When her wish comes true, and real monsters want to keep Mia, Lucy gets monstrous too! With vivid colors spreading from each corner of the book, Fotheringham really showcases the love and nuisance of having a younger sibling. Through Rosenbaum's dialogue, the reader is shown how grateful they should be to having a younger sibling. Highly recommended for older siblings who need to be gently reminded that, it's not always so bad having a little sibling.
